The Big Book Club

Allow me to introduce you all to a new program: “The Big Book Club!”

During the months of May- September, every first Saturday of the month, we will be meeting in the North Bay Public Libraries Auditorium to have a book reading and discussion. The Big Book Club is not only to inspire those attending to get involved with their local library, but to also learn about Indigenous culture. A large part of being Indigenous is passing down stories through generations, and The Big Book Clubs goal is to do just that! As well as inspire ways to continue to pursue education and a love of literature.

The events will be open to all those involved in Big Brothers Big Sisters as well as those in your communities who are in care. It is completely free to attend (Saturday’s there’s free parking downtown as well!) and we will provide school safe snacks to those who attend!

If you would like to nominate a speaker/ reader, or would like to speak yourself please contact Tayler Sullivan, Big Steps to Success Coordinator at,
Phone: (705) 474-3041 x 1
Email: tayler.sullivan@bigbrothersbigsister.ca

The readers are encourage to pick Indigenous stories that inspire them, preferably children’s books/ quick reads. Then discuss the books with those in attendance, and answer any questions that arise. i.e. why they chose this book, what comes to mind as their reading, etc..
